Ikon of Eros for violin, chorus and orchestra sets Byzantine and Hindu texts concerning Divine Eros. The solo violin represents the Divine Eros, and the choir sings key words in Greek. There is an invocation in Sanscrit in the 3rd movement.
Ikon of Eros is the first in a number of works to show the deep influence of Hinduism on me. It succeeds or fails by its ability to create an inner spiritual state. I hope it succeeds.
